R&D Manager

As the Group R&D Manager you are responsible for the strategically augmentation and strengthening of the organization's capabilities in innovation and technology advancement. You oversee and drive R&D initiatives, ensuring effective project management, optimizing processes,…. The objective is to enhance the organization's competitiveness, accelerate product development, and ultimately contribute to the achievement of strategic business goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage a multi-disciplinary team, amongst consisting experts in processing technologies, human and animal nutrition applications.
• You play a key role in the planning, execution and implementation of R&D Projects within the Group
• You lead the development of new food products or improvement of existing ones in collaboration with food scientists and other experts to create innovative products
• You manage and lead a team of researchers and food scientists and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
• You collaborate with the sales managers to align R&D efforts with market demands
• You work closely with production and operations teams to ensure seamless product transitions from development to production
• You ensure that R&D activities adhere to regulatory requirements
• You are the point of contact for university, government agencies, industry federations
• You manage and monitor the IP. You stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to our core activities

Profile

• You have experience in the management of R&D projects
• You master a set of R&D methodologies, systems, and procedures involved in carrying out R&D projects
• You are capable of managing and motivating individuals involved in R&D. You foster a collaborative working environment
• You have a master's degree in bioengineering, passionate about proteins
• Min. 5 years of work experience in the food industry (or related)
• You demonstrate a strong technical knowledge in the functionality of protein ingredients and/or protein (processing) science/technology
• You possess advanced written and oral communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate technical information effectively to all levels of the organization
• You have a practical attitude with the necessary accuracy, like a challenge and like to take initiative
• You are hands-on, practical and lead by example
